How membership works
Everything here is how the scheme actually behaves, including the parts that are not in our favour. If something on your account does not match what this page says, tell us — see the last question.
How is my tier worked out?
By what you have spent with us over the last 12 months. It is a rolling window, not a calendar year: every day, the oldest day drops out of the total and today is added.
There are 4 tiers. Member is free and automatic when you join. Silver starts at RM300300 ringgit, and Platinum at RM2,0002,000 ringgit. Each tier keeps everything the tiers below it get.
What counts towards my tier?
Purchases you have made in the shop, counted as the amount you actually paid — after any member discount has come off, not the ticket price.
Two reasons, and the second is the real one:
- It is the money that actually went into the till.
- It is what you believe you spent. Nobody thinks of their own spending as the figure before a discount.
So a bigger discount means I climb more slowly?
Yes, slightly, and we would rather say so here than have you work it out later.
Because your tier counts what you paid, a higher tier — which takes more off — also adds a little less to your total. On an RM800800 ringgit purchase, a 5% member saves RM4040 ringgit and RM760760 ringgit counts towards their next tier.
The discount is worth more than the difference it makes to your progress. It is still worth telling you about.
What does not count?
- Buying a gift card. It counts when the card is spent, so it is counted once rather than twice.
- Delivery charges and tax.
- Refunds and cancelled sales come back off your total — even if the original purchase is old enough to have otherwise dropped out of the 12-month window.
Can my tier go down?
It can, but never without warning and never suddenly. Going up is immediate: cross a threshold and you are in the higher tier the same day.
Going down is slow on purpose. We check tiers on the 1st of each month, and if yours is going to drop we tell you 30 days before it happens and show you exactly how much would keep you where you are. If your spending reaches the threshold again before that date, nothing changes at all and we tell you that too.
What happens to my benefits if my tier goes down?
Anything already given to you stays yours. A birthday voucher you have been issued keeps its value and its own expiry date, whatever happens to your tier.
What changes are the benefits that come with the tier itself — your standing discount, free alterations, free delivery. Those follow your current tier, and your account shows which is which before any change takes effect.
How long does my birthday voucher last?
60 days from the day it is issued, and it is worth the amount it was issued at.
If you move up a tier during those 60 days, the voucher you are holding does not change — the higher amount applies to next year’s voucher. Your account shows the value and the expiry date on the voucher itself.
Can I use a member price and my discount together?
You always get whichever saves more — the member price or your tier discount, never both. Your birthday voucher then comes off the total.
You never have to work out which is better. We apply whichever leaves you paying less.
A purchase is missing from my total.
It happens: purchases are recorded by hand in the shop, and on a busy day one can be missed. It is worth telling us, because your tier is worked out from that record.
